Mariano "The Hitman" Rivera

I just recently cam across an amazing stat on Mariano Rivera. Widely considered as the best closer in the history of baseball. Mariano Rivera has 558 all time saves and a career ERA of 2.22. 2.01 if you take out his rookie season when he worked mostly as a starter. All that when the batter knows exactly watch pitch is coming. However I have found one flaw in Rivera's game it is the hit batter. in 1147 innings he has hit 43 men. Andy Pettitte has throw 1,901 more innings in his career than Rivera and has hit just 8 more batters. Mike Mussina has Thrown 2,415 more innings than Mo and has hit just 17 more batters. Then the legend Whitey Ford tossed 2023 more innings and hit an amazing 15 LESS batters. Quite an interesting stat on the best of all time.

Inning per HB.
Mariano Rivera 26.7
Mike Mussina 59.4
Andy Pettitte 59.8
Whitey Ford 113.2

Here's a painful image of The Phillie Physic getting drilled.
